PermaCityLife is seeking an Communications Intern to help support outreach management and social media activities. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented student, or recent graduate, who is interested in serving as an intern and providing support for communications activities, including public relations, social media, writing, editing, research and events management. Intern will learn new skills and obtain broad-based communications experience. This position will also provide an opportunity to learn about economic development and the non-profit sector.
20 hours per week | Unpaid
Experience in graphic design
Ability to create photo and video productions as they relate to the PermaCityLife’s marketing objectives
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, as well as Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work and maintain productivity with minimal supervision
Interest in sustainable economic development, business marketing or marketing research
Ability to offer new ideas, concepts, solutions, etc.
Must be a team player that works well in an adapting environment
Exceptional people skills with an outgoing personality
Excellent verbal and communication skills
High level of professionalism
Qualifications
Develop creative and compelling content for the web, newsletter and media
Communicate across all channels with media, the public and donors
Assist in updating content on the website as projects progress
Create contact lists and develop relationships
Assist in content creation and management for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Assist in creating and managing social media ad campaigns
Generate weekly and monthly social media reports
Identify insights and opportunities based on social media performance
