Market Research and Development Internship/ Capstone

Spring / Summer 2017

Conduct market research for four target populations: millennials, veterans, artists and elders. Determine the features that would be most beneficial to include in the Franklin housing project that would attract those individuals (community gardens, composting, cooking classes, community building, etc.)  Create advertising with the goal of having the building fully leased (45 units) by November 2017-June 2018.

Founded more than 25 years ago, CATCH Neighborhood Housing is a 501(c)3, community-based non-profit organization offering a full spectrum of housing and education services in Merrimack County, New Hampshire. CATCH meets the needs of the communities it serves by constructing new affordable housing units and revitalizing existing housing in an area where affordable rental options are limited. We are focused on creating a community where every person is confident of a home.  (See www.catchhousing.org.)

Franklin Light & Power will open in June 2018 as a 45-unit affordable housing project in a completely remodeled historic mill building.  It will feature both historic architecture and modern energy efficiencies, and combine the best elements of private living quarters with a welcoming neighborhood feel.  This neighborhood is located in Franklin, NH which is in the midst of a sustainable revitalization being catalyzed by the local nonprofit PermaCityLife.  (See www.permacitylife.com.)
