Thank you for joining us at The Hub--our new blog for the Sustainable Learning Initiative at Franklin Falls. This exciting program is a collaboration between Colby-Sawyer College and PermaCityLife that provides experiential learning opportunities for students to learn professional skills while contributing to the sustainable revitalization of the downtown.
Students work with directly with community stakeholders to explore, design and develop sustainable solutions to real and evolving community needs. As a complement to the SLI, Colby-Sawyer has also launched an innovative three-year degree in community-based sustainability which allows students to save approximately 20 percent on the cost of their college education and gain hands-on experience while still in school.
The remodeled storefront at 357 Central Street serves as "The Hub" for partnerships and projects within the downtown, functioning as the main office for PermaCityLife and home base for Colby-Sawyer students and interns who travel there to work with project partners. We look forward to sharing our current and future progress, and introducing you to the people helping to breathe new life into this beautiful historic city.
